Open Water Diver (OWD)
This course is designed for individuals who want to start their diving adventure and build a solid foundation for safe diving. The training takes you step by step from theory, through confined water sessions, to open water dives, preparing you for independent diving up to a depth of 20 meters.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
- minimum age 15 (under 18 requires parental or guardian consent)
- medical fitness to participate in the course

COURSE DURATION:
- Theory Module
- Practical Module in Swimming Pool or Pool-Like Conditions
- Practical Module in Open Water Conditions
THEORETICAL TRAINING:
The course is based on the student manual and official IDF training materials. Topics include:
- effects of pressure and breathing compressed air on the human body
- basics of diving physics and environment
- diving equipment and its proper use
- Sicheres Planen und Durchführen von Tauchgängen
- preparation for the theoretical exam
PRACTICAL TRAINING:
Consist of:
- 4 dives in confined water (pool or similar conditions)
- 6 dives in open water
- total dive time minimum 250 minutes
PRACTICAL EXAM:
- conducted during open water dives
THEORETICAL EXAM:
- multiple-choice test conducted electronically
CERTIFICATION:
- upon completion, participants receive an international IDF certification allowing them to dive up to 20 meters in open water
- ability to plan and conduct recreational dives independently
- opportunity to continue diving education at higher levels
