RAPID PROGRAM DIVER PSAI (RESCUE, ACCIDENT PREVENTION & INTERVENTION DIVER PSAI)
CPR FIRST AID COURSE
This course teaches first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
Upon completion of this course, the graduate will be able to:
- Recognize and assess the situation and the condition of casualties/victims
- Perform appropriate resuscitation procedures
- Secure injured persons and the accident scene
WHY IT'S WORTH COMPLETING A FIRST AID COURSE?
Because, as witnesses to an accident, we will be able to provide first aid and potentially save someone's life.
NOTE! A refresher course is required every 2 years to maintain the above-mentioned qualifications.
PRE-REQUISITES:
- Minimum age: 15 years old
- Holding a Basic Diver certification or a Junior Diver certification
- Completion of the required documentation / Filling out the required documents
COURSE DURATION:
The duration of the course depends on the participants' level of skills and experience and is a minimum of 4 hours.
REQUIRED TOPIC AREAS:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Definition of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Assessment of the situation and the condition of the casualty/victim
- How to properly perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Absence of breathing – artificial respiration (rescue breathing)
- Cardiac arrest – chest compressions and artificial respiration (rescue breathing)
- Duration of resuscitation procedures
- Proper securing of the injured person and the accident scene
- Notification of the appropriate emergency services
- Transport
- First Aid
- Definition of First Aid
- Principles of First Aid
- Simulated response procedures in the following emergency situations:
- Fractures (broken bones)
- Bleeding / Hemorrhages
- Burns
- Bruises
- Bites and stings
- Electric shocks
- Proper securing of the injured person and the accident scene
- Notification of the appropriate emergency services
- Transport
- Legal framework
REQUIRED EXERCISES TO PASS THE COURSE:
- Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a training mannequin
- Performing simulated first aid procedures in emergency situations
- Recognizing and managing a simulated emergency situation
CERTIFICATION:
Upon successful completion of the course, the graduate receives an international certificate entitling them to provide first aid in emergencies.
RESCUE DIVER
The aim of the course is to acquire the skills to provide assistance in case of life-threatening situations or diving accidents both underwater and on the surface.
WHY IT'S WORTH BECOMING A RESCUE DIVER?
- Because, as witnesses to a diving accident, we will be able to provide assistance and potentially save someone's life.
- In addition, after completing this course, we will be eligible to enroll in the Dive Leader and Dive Guide course.
PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
- Minimum age: 15 years (parental or legal guardian consent required for participants under 18 years of age)
- Holding the Advanced Open Water Sport Diver certification level
- Possession of a valid medical certificate of fitness to dive
- A minimum of 40 logged dives
COURSE DURATION:
The course duration is a minimum of 10 hours, with at least half of the training conducted in open water.
THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL SESSIONS:
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to: identify problems and provide assistance to a simulated diver experiencing breathing difficulties, exhaustion, leg cramps, or mild panic.
- Locate and bring an “unconscious” diver to the surface from a depth of approximately 5 metres.
- Tow an “unconscious” diver on the surface for approximately 50 metres to the shore or to a boat.
- Upon reaching the shore or the boat, remove the injured diver from the water.
QUALIFICATIONS AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE:
Successful completion of the course enables efficient and thorough rescue actions in the event of a diving accident and qualifies for:
- Enrollment in the course for candidates for Dive Leader and Dive Guide certification
