DEEP SPORT DIVER
The aim of the course is to provide adequate knowledge, equipment considerations, and dive planning to enable safe non-decompression diving to a maximum depth of 40m.
PREREQUISITES:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Possession of the Advanced Open Water Diver PSAI SILVER certification (Level I – 30 m)
- Certified Twinset Diver or Sidemount Diver
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Properly configured twin-cylinder setup (Twinset or Sidemount)
- A diving suit appropriate for the conditions (a dry suit is highly recommended)
- Dive computer
- Dive light
- Spool with buoy
- Slate and pencil or wetnotes
COURSE OUTLINE:
Theoretical sessions 3-4 hours:
- Considerations Regarding Equipment for Recreational Deep Diving
- Dive Preparation and Planning
- Management of Physiological Risk Factors
- Conducting the Five Phases of Recreational Deep Diving
- Determining No-Decompression Limits (NDLs)
Practical sessions 4 dives:
- Determination of RMV (Respiratory Minute Volume) as a parameter for dive planning
- Gas-sharing exercises with a dive buddy (in various scenarios)
- Principles and techniques of using a descent line
- Exercise in maintaining the correct ascent rate
- Practising proper trim and buoyancy control during safety stops
- SMB deployment and handling
- Gas management
- Effective cooperation with a dive buddy
QUALIFICATIONS UPON COURSE COMPLETION:
Upon completion of the course, you will receive certification to plan and conduct non-decompression dives to a maximum depth of 40m.
