The PSAI Multistage Sidemount Diver course develops the skills required to safely use stage cylinders in a sidemount configuration.

The aim of the course is to prepare divers to safely conduct dives using a sidemount configuration equipped with stage cylinders.
COURSE INFORMATION
- Minimum age: In accordance with PSAI standards.
- Prerequisites: Basic Open Water Sidemount Diver PSAI, valid medical clearance for diving.
- Theory: Approximately 2–3 hours of classroom instruction, history and development of sidemount diving, equipment configuration, gas management, trim techniques, procedures specific to the multistage sidemount configuration.
- Confined Water Training: Minimum of 60 minutes of training in a pool or pool-like environment.
- Open Water Dives: Minimum of 3 training dives
- Minimum Total Bottom Time: 75 minutes
- Decompression Diving: The third dive may be conducted as a decompression dive, provided the student holds the appropriate certification.
- Maximum Depth: In accordance with the student's current certification level.
- Required Equipment: Two primary cylinders, one or more stage cylinders, sidemount harness with buoyancy compensator, regulators for primary and stage cylinders, pressure gauges, dive computer or depth and timing instruments, two dive lights, backup mask, DSMB with spool, wetnotes with pencil.
