The objective of the course is to prepare divers to independently and safely conduct no-decompression dives to depths of up to 40 metres.
COURSE INFORMATION
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Diver PSAI Silver or an equivalent certification, and Twinset Diver or Sidemount Diver.
- Health requirements: A health condition that allows participation in the course
- Theory: 3–4 hours of classroom theory
- Practical training: 4 training dives
- Theory: Equipment configuration, dive planning, management of physiological risk factors, the five phases of sport deep diving, determining no-decompression limits
- Practical training: RMV calculation, gas sharing, working with a descent line, ascent rate control, buoyancy during safety stops, SMB deployment, gas management, buddy teamwork
- Maximum Depth: 40 metres
- Required equipment: Properly configured twinset or sidemount system, a diving suit suitable for the conditions (preferably a dry suit), dive computer, dive torch, spool with an SMB, and a slate with pencil or wetnotes.

HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?
From planning a deep dive to safely executing a no-decompression dive profile to depths of up to 40 metres.
PLANNING AND RISK MANAGEMENT
You will learn the principles of dive preparation, determining no-decompression limits, and assessing the physiological risks associated with greater depths.
Gas Management
You will learn how to determine your RMV, plan your gas reserve, and practise different gas-sharing procedures with your dive buddy.
PRACTICAL TRAINING AT GREATER DEPTHS
During the training dives, you will develop ascent rate control, buoyancy, SMB deployment skills, and effective teamwork.

PREREQUISITES

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER SILVER
An Advanced Open Water Diver PSAI Silver certification or an equivalent level of training is required.
Twinset or Sidemount
Candidates must hold a Twinset Diver or Sidemount Diver certification and use a properly configured twin-cylinder diving system.
Proper preparation
The course requires a responsible approach, good buoyancy control, and a willingness to develop dive planning and procedural skills.
