DRY SUIT DIVER
(PSAI)
The aim of the course is to teach participants safe diving using a dry suit. During the course, correct attainment of neutral buoyancy and procedures in emergency situations are practiced. After completing the course, participants should be able to choose an appropriate dry suit for themselves and use it safely.
WHY IT'S WORTH DIVING IN DRY SUITS?
• we have better thermal comfort, especially in our environmental conditions
• in emergency situations, we have an alternative source of buoyancy
REQUIREMENTS:
• minimum age of 15 (below 18 years of age requires consent from both parents)
• possession of Basic Diver certification
• current medical examination
THEORETICAL SESSIONS:
• construction, maintenance, and storage of dry suits
• fitting of the dry suit
• diving technique in a dry suit
• procedures in emergency situations
PRACTICAL SESSIONS:
• fitting, donning, and doffing of various types of dry suits
• operation of dry suit valves
• water entry technique from shore and floating units
• buoyancy control using the dry suit
• procedures in emergency situations (flooding of the dry suit, uncontrolled ascent)
QUALIFICATIONS AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE:
Ability to dive using a dry suit at depths corresponding to the diver's certification level.
