History of IDF

IDF was founded in 2015 as a response to real problems in diver training. At a time when diving was becoming more accessible, what started to disappear was what mattered most - quality and a responsible approach to education. Courses became easier, the focus on safety decreased, and real skills were often pushed aside.

But diving is not just another activity. It is entering an environment that does not forgive mistakes. For many, it begins with curiosity and the first descent - silence, space, and the feeling of weightlessness. But very quickly, something else appears: the awareness that underwater, control, knowledge, and decision-making are critical.

The founders of IDF are experienced instructors who spent years observing the evolution of the diving industry. They saw new technologies, new equipment configurations, and a growing number of divers. But they also saw something beginners often do not - mistakes, accidents, and situations that could have been avoided. They understood that the problem was not the equipment, but the training system.

Lowering training standards, lack of emergency preparation, and an approach focused on “passing the course” rather than building real skills made diving less safe than it should be. That is why IDF was created - a federation that trains differently.

From the very beginning, the focus was on building proper habits, understanding what happens underwater, and making conscious decisions. The goal is not just to complete a course, but to prepare divers for real situations - including the difficult and demanding ones. This approach creates a natural path of development, from the first dive to advanced and technical diving.

Because the deeper you go, the less room there is for mistakes.

The foundation of IDF is one simple principle: Safety First. Diving is not about going deeper or doing more. It is about coming back safely.

Today, IDF is a modern training organization present in many countries around the world. Its certifications are globally recognized, and its training system allows development from beginner level all the way to advanced technical diving.

It is a path that starts with your first dive, but can take you much further - to deep diving, wrecks, overhead environments, and demanding dives that require precision, control, and experience.

IDF also develops inclusive programs for divers with disabilities and cooperates with rescue services and specialized units, confirming the high quality of its training.

Because diving evolves. And good training must evolve with it.

IDF was created so you don’t just learn how to dive, but to do it consciously, safely, and at a level that truly matters.

IDF - we support instructors and take care of divers.
