This course is designed for divers who want to discover a completely new dimension of diving – at night. The training teaches how to plan and conduct night dives, use light effectively, and move safely in low visibility conditions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
- minimum age 15
- IDF Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent certification from another diving organization)
- medical fitness to participate in the course
COURSE DURATION:
- Theory Module
- Practical Module in Open Water Conditions
THEORETICAL TRAINING:
The course is conducted based on the student manual and lectures delivered using official IDF training materials. Topics include:
- planning and organizing night dives
- use of different light sources
- communication using dive lights
- safety procedures in limited visibility
- rescue and self-rescue techniques
- preparation for the theoretical exam
PRACTICAL TRAINING:
Consist of:
- 2 open water dives
- total dive time minimum 50 minutes
- maximum depth according to current certification level
PRACTICAL EXAM:
- conducted during open water dives
THEORETICAL EXAM:
- online test
CERTIFICATION:
- upon completion, participants receive an international IDF Night Diver certification
