This course is designed for divers who want to learn sidemount diving and consciously configure and manage their equipment. The training improves trim and buoyancy, increases comfort underwater, and develops skills in equipment handling and emergency procedures.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
- minimum age 15
- IDF Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent certification from another diving organization)
- medical fitness to participate in the course
COURSE DURATION:
- Theory Module
- Practical Module in Open Water Conditions
THEORETICAL TRAINING:
The course is conducted based on the student manual and lectures delivered using official IDF training materials. Topics include:
- sidemount equipment configuration
- weight distribution and proper trim
- regulator setup and gas management
- Emergency procedures
- preparation for the theoretical exam
PRACTICAL TRAINING:
Consist of:
- 4 open water dives
- total dive time minimum 100 minutes
- maximum depth according to current certification level
PRACTICAL EXAM:
- conducted during open water dives
THEORETICAL EXAM:
- online test
CERTIFICATION:
- upon completion, participants receive an international IDF Sidemount Diver certification
- ability to safely use sidemount configuration
- improved buoyancy control and trim
- increased safety through equipment redundancy
