PADI DSMB BUOY
Signal your position
The DSMB Diver course is practical training for divers who want to learn how to deploy and use a surface marker buoy correctly and confidently during a dive.
A DSMB allows you to signal your position at the surface before you ascend. This is particularly important in areas with boat traffic, in stronger currents, or when surfacing far from shore or the dive boat. The buoy line can also serve as a reference point during a safety stop.

BOAT DIVING ENTHUSIASTS
Are you planning to dive in areas with boat traffic? A DSMB allows you to signal your position to people on the surface.
DIVERS DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS
Do you want to become a more independent and confident diver? Being able to use a DSMB effectively is one of the practical skills worth mastering early in your diving development.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THE COURSE?
The DSMB Diver course prepares you to use a surface marker buoy safely and confidently during a dive.
During the course, you will learn:
- Properly prepare a DSMB before a dive
- Handle a DSMB and spool efficiently
- Signal your position at the surface
- Control the line while using a DSMB
- Maintain proper buoyancy while using a DSMB
- Use the line as a reference point
- Perform a safety stop using a DSMB
- Use a DSMB in limited visibility
- Use a DSMB when diving in areas with currents and boat traffic
- Avoid the most common mistakes when using a DSMB
The goal of the course is to make DSMB handling a natural and confident part of your diving, rather than an additional task that requires your full attention.

Data Under Control
At Demon Ray, we have developed At Demon Ray, we have developed PhysioDive Lab – an innovative project that makes it possible to observe and analyse the body’s responses during a real dive..
During selected dives, we can record physiological and environmental parameters to observe how the body responds to depth, temperature, physical exertion, stress, and changing underwater conditions..
It is an additional training tool that allows you to look at technical diving not only from the perspective of the procedures performed but also to understand what is happening in your body at the same time..
- Monitoring heart rate and gas consumption
- Biometric data analysis
- Thermal monitoring and testing of undersuits
- Recording environmental conditions
- Analysis of stress and physiological strain
