This course is designed for individuals wishing to embark on their diving adventure and learn the basics of safe diving.
Certifies divers to dive to a depth of up to 20 meters in open water worldwide. The PSAI organization offers a basic course with the highest maximum depth limit among all diving organizations.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
• age from 15 years old (parental or guardian consent is required for those under 18) *
• after completing the youth diver course, graduates obtain the same qualifications as the basic level, but they can perform them under the supervision of parents, guardians, leaders - guides, or instructors
COURSE DURATION:
• theoretical module
• practical module in pool-like conditions
• practical module in open water
THEORETICAL SESSIONS:
minimum 15 hours (lecture duration is approximately 2.5 hours)
Lectures cover the following topics:
• history of diving and organization structure
• diving equipment
• diving environment and physics
• diving medicine
• decompression theory
• diving techniques
• discussion of exam questions - exam preparation
• exam
PRACTICAL SESSIONS:
Consist of:
• diving sessions in pool-like conditions
• open water dives with an exam (each dive minimum 20 minutes)
PRACTICAL EXAM:
• takes place in open water, with 4 dives each lasting a minimum of 15 minutes.
QUALIFICATIONS UPON COURSE COMPLETION:
• upon completing the course, participants receive an international license, enabling them to dive to a depth of up to 20 meters in open water worldwide. The OWSD PSAI certificate gives graduates of the basic course the highest diving qualifications among basic qualifications of all diving organizations worldwide, as well as the opportunity to continue their education to higher diving levels.
