Night diving and low visibility diving

NIGHT DIVING / LIMITED VISIBILITY DIVER PSAI

The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with specific procedures, techniques, and potential hazards associated with diving at night and in limited visibility. Upon completion of the course, participants will have the necessary knowledge of specific diving techniques, navigation, buddy diving procedures, underwater communication during night dives or in limited visibility, and the ability to use a flashlight to communicate dive signals. Participants will also have knowledge of how to behave during these dives to avoid disturbing the nocturnal inhabitants of the area.

WHY IT'S WORTH DIVING UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS?

• for many divers, night diving is a favorite type of diving due to the completely different forms of life compared to daytime diving

• diving in limited visibility is also necessary due to the variable hydrological conditions present in a given body of water

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:

• possession of Basic or Youth Diver certification

• current medical examination

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• basic diving equipment

• minimum of 2 dive lights

• strobo

• compass

COURSE DURATION:

• minimum 1 day

THEORETICAL SESSIONS:

• area securing

• night diving: yes or no?

• hazards during dives in limited visibility

• proper equipment selection

• communication between buddies

PRACTICAL SESSIONS:

• proper area securing

• ability to use various types of lighting

• navigation

• dive signals

QUALIFICATIONS UPON COURSE COMPLETION:

Upon completion of the course, participants are qualified for night diving and diving in limited visibility.
